Wartek (or Wartec) cream contains the active ingredient Podophyllotoxin 1.5 mg/g (0.15% w/w). Wartek cream is used for the topical treatment of condylomata acuminata affecting the penis and the external female genitalia.
Wartek overdosage
- Signs: a nausea, a vomiting, a fever, a diarrhea, a myelosuppression, ulcerations of a mucosa of an oral cavity.
- Treatment: at hit in exuberant quantities on a skin - an immediate lavage of the given site water with soap; at casual intake - a gastric lavage. Symptomatic therapy, dynamic observation with definition of cellular composition of a peripheric blood, a level of transaminases, a bilirubin, the maintenance of electrolytes and gas composition of a blood is shown.
Wartek warnings
* Avoid contact with eyes. If the cream accidentally come into the eye, the eye should be thoroughly rinsed with water.
* The hands should be thoroughly washed after each application. Prolonged contact with healthy skin must be avoided since cream contains an active pharmaceutical substance which could be harmful on healthy skin.
If you feel that Wartek is not helping your condition or if it becomes worse, tell your doctor. Tell your doctor if for any reason, you have not used Wartek exactly as prescribed. Otherwise, your doctor may think that it was not effective and change your treatment unnecessarily. If you become pregnant while using Wartek, tell your doctor.
Sexual intercourse should be avoided on days Wartek is used. Genital warts are contagious. You can give them to or get them from a sexual partner. Make sure sexual partners are checked for genital warts also. Condoms may help prevent the spread of genital warts during sexual contact.
Be careful driving or operating machinery until you know how Wartek affects you. Wartek does not cause any problems with your ability to drive a car or operate machinery. However, it may cause local irritation on application.
