Oruvail (ketoprofen)

Oruvail is a popular medicine that is also widely known under the generic name of Ketoprofen. Oruvail belongs to a wide class of medicines that are called NSAIDS (anti-inflammatory nonsteroidal medicines). This medicine is known for its ability to reduce the harmful hormones that are known to cause pain and inflammation in the organism. Therefore, this drug is regularly used to people who are suffering from arthritis and who are experiencing this medical condition’s symptoms (inflammation, pain). However, some people are using this medicine in order to treat menstrual symptoms (pain). Ketoprofen is used to relieve pain and inflammation in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including various forms of arthritis, gout, muscle sprains and strains, back pain, neck pain and tendinitis.

Oruvail is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication that is used to relieve the inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It is also used to relieve mild to moderate pain such as menstrual cramps, headaches, muscle aches, backaches, and dental pain. In addition, ketoprofen is used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pain due to the common cold or flu. In addition, Oruvail is also used to treat the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis over the long term, not severe attacks that come on suddenly.

Ketoprofen works by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase (COX). Cyclo-oxygenase is involved in the production of various chemicals in the body, some of which are known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are produced by the body in response to injury and certain diseases and conditions, and cause pain, swelling and inflammation. Ketoprofen blocks the production of these prostaglandins and is therefore effective at reducing inflammation and pain.

Oruvail tablets are controlled release teblets. They are designed to release the ketoprofen slowly and continuously over several hours. This provides prolonged pain relief, so these teblets are taken once a day. It is generally not useful in situations where prompt pain relief is desired. The teblet must be swallowed whole to avoid damaging the controlled release action.

Directions for use:
When you buy Oruvail tablets take it by mouth. Follow the directions on the label. Swallow tablets whole with a full glass of water in an upright or sitting position. Taking a sip of water first, before taking the tablets, may help you swallow them. If possible take bedtime doses at least 10 minutes before lying down. Do not crush or chew the tablets. You can take ketoprofen with food to prevent stomach upset. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take Oruvail more often or for a longer time than directed. Do not use them for more than 3 days for fever or 10 days for pain.

Oruvail belongs to a group of pain relief medications.

Oruvail Safety Info

Make sure your doctor knows any other conditions you have and what other medications you are taking. If you have kidney or liver disease, this drug should be used with caution. If you are taking Oruvail for an extended period of time, your doctor will check your blood for anemia. Oruvail can increase water retention. Use with caution if you have heart disease or high blood pressure.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Do not smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol; these increase irritation to your stomach and can make it more susceptible to damage from ketoprofen.

It is especially important not to use ketoprofen during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless specifically directed to do so by your health care provider. Ketoprofen may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery.
