Stanozolol is a man-made steroid, similar to the a naturally occurring steroid testosterone. Stanozolol is used in the treatment of hereditary angioedema, which causes episodes of swelling of the face, extremities, genitals, bowel wall, and throat. Stanozolol may decrease the frequency and severity of these attacks.
Usual adult dose for angioedema:
Prophylactic use to decrease freguency and severity of attacks of hereditary angioedema - initial dose: 2 mg orally 3 times a day. The prophylactic dose of Winstrol, to be used prior to dental extraction, or other traumatic or stressful situations has not been established and may be substantially larger.
The minimal initial effective dose of stanozolol is 0.5 to 2.0 milligrams daily, although most patients achieved symptomatic control and decreased the dose and frequency as the frequency of attacks decreased. This dosage range (0.5 to 2.0 mg/d) is associated with minimal adverse drug effects in both the short- and long-term.
